About the job

Who We Are:

Welcome to Noldor, we are on a mission to revolutionize how insurance data powers the program and specialty insurance marketplace. Don’t let the word "insurance" fool you, insurance is a dynamic and rapidly evolving marketplace, and we are at the forefront of its transformation. At Noldor, we are building a groundbreaking platform that redefines data exchange, empowering MGAs (Managing General Agents), carriers, and reinsurers to harness data for more informed, strategic decision-making.

Since our start in 2021 at the DESCOvery venture studio, we’ve been on a roll—building an energetic, supportive, and driven team that's fearless about tackling some of the toughest challenges in this $5 trillion industry. We work hard, laugh harder, and believe in the impact we’re making together. If you're ready to be part of a transformative journey, let’s reshape this industry side by side!

About The Role:

This is a hybrid role: part consultant, part project manager, and part data analyst. You'll be in the room with the customer and hands-on with the detail - gathering requirements and bridging our technology and their business needs, the one who can hear what they're trying to do and say what their data will and won't support. You won't do it alone: every implementation is a team effort across delivery, product, engineering and sales.

Every customer has different requirements, and they structure their data differently. Yes, it’s all insurance data, but no two configurations are alike. The challenge is asking the right questions, gathering the right requirements, understanding the customer’s needs, steering them in a different direction and developing alternative recommendations when automation is at risk, all before touching a single field. And when complexity arises, knowing that product and engineering are behind you to ensure best practices.

What this isn’t: you won’t be building databases, writing SQL, or shipping production code. We have data engineers for that, and you’ll work with them closely. Your tools are Excel, Google Sheets, our platform, and your own judgment.

What You’ll Do

  • Consult with customers on complex program and reinsurance data issues. Become the expert on each client, their data, and optimizing how it flows through Noldor. Participate in customer calls and lead as the subject matter expert. Understand what they’re actually trying to accomplish.
  • Configure each customer’s requirements to automate in Noldor’s platform. Decide what’s required and what’s important, and recommend ways to make things more efficient. The craft is knowing what is important, what isn’t, and the most efficient way to optimize the customer’s configuration.
  • Manage the implementation. Drive requirements gathering, run the project plan, collaborate with stakeholders on both sides, and keep several integrations moving without missing dates.
  • Champion best practices and standardization. Customers will ask for one-offs. You’re the one who knows when to accommodate and when to guide them to the standard, and who can explain why in terms they care about.
  • Know when an ask is a mapping decision and when it’s a product gap. Handle the first yourself; write the second up clearly enough that product and engineering can act, and help shape what we build next.
  • Improve the process as you go. Point AI tools at the repetitive parts, and turn what you learn on each implementation into standards the whole team uses.

Our Ideal Candidate Has
Must-haves

  • Real implementation judgment. The core of the job. You’ve gathered all the requirements and know when to raise things internally or with the customer when things just do not feel right. It's our job to be the trusted advisor of our customers to ensure automation and scalability are paramount. It's not just about creating a deliverable, it is about optimizing the configuration of our customers to enable them to scale as they grow. You’ve mapped or standardized insurance data and know which fields matter to a given customer, when a value is wrong versus just unfamiliar, and when to stop and ask. Class codes, bordereaux (premium, risk or claims data), migrations and integrations all count.
  • Credibility in front of a customer. You won’t own the relationship, but you’ll drive the engagement with customers, be their advocate and lead the customer to the decisions that set them up for success. You will be the person asking sharp questions, explaining and recommending decisions in plain terms, holding your ground when the standard is the better answer and marshalling resources when you need assistance.
  • A strong business analysis foundation: process mapping, data analysis, clear requirements documentation, and the project management instincts to keep several implementations on schedule.
  • 3+ years with insurance premium, risk or claims data at a carrier, MGA, wholesaler, reinsurer, or a platform serving them. Commercial lines especially, and admitted plus non-admitted is a real plus.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets. Lookups, joins and conditional logic need to be second nature.
  • Comfort with startup ambiguity, and AI tools you already use daily.

Nice to have

  • Range across product lines (BOP, Commercial Auto, GL, Workers’ Comp, Cyber, Umbrella, Homeowners) or experience building mandatory reporting submissions.
  • A customer success, support or QA background that grew into an analytical role.
